TUESDAY’S TREASURE
“Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,” Ephesians 5:22-25 (NIV)
There’s a lot of controversy swirling around culture today about women submitting to their husbands. However, in my humble opinion, submission isn’t passive. To submit the way God intended takes strength.
Submission is not for the weak. Submission doesn’t mean being a doormat, allowing your husband to walk all over you, or treat you as a slave to whatever whim he might fancy on any given day. A godly woman edifies, encourages, and most of all, prays for her husband daily, sometimes hourly, knowing that she is being obedient first to God, and then to her husband.
A wife was created to be a helpmate to her husband: emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. She is her husband’s secret weapon – his first line of defense, behind the scenes, on her knees.
When carried out biblically, the husband actually has the harder of the two assignments. A woman is called to submit to her husband, but her husband is called to love his wife as Jesus loves the church and gave Himself for her. When Jesus gave Himself for the church, that meant He willingly died on the cross, taking our sins as His own. Women are called to submit; men are called to give themselves up for their families.
I get excited being the one who is my husband’s biggest cheerleader.
What are your thoughts? How can you encourage your friends to see submission as a strength, not a weakness?
ABOUT JOURNEY BACK HOME
True strength is often found in the qui
etest acts of obedience, and its full impact is sometimes only understood in hindsight.
Jace and Simone’s marriage, once a vibrant partnership of shared faith, has become a casualty of their chaotic lives. As a youth minister and a teacher raising four children, they’ve drifted apart, their love buried under a mountain of daily pressures and unmet expectations. Simone struggles to live out the biblical call to submission, while Jace fails to grasp the Christ-like, sacrificial love required to lead his home.
Their story is a poignant exploration of a marriage clinging to its foundation while the structure crumbles around it. It’s about the quiet strength of a wife’s prayers when her words fail, and the blindness of a husband who can’t see the battle being fought for his soul.
When their family is shattered by an unforeseen tragedy, Jace is left with the ruins of the life they built together. It is only in the devastating silence that he begins a journey to understand what true leadership and love really mean—a journey that will reveal the profound, hidden strength his wife possessed all along.
Discover the moving story of redemption that emerges from heartbreak. Journey Back Home is a heartfelt novel that explores the true meaning of covenant, sacrifice, and finding God’s path back to grace. It is the second book in the uplifting Redemption of Green Pines series.

MY REVIEW *****
When tragedy strikes, Jace Cooper must face the issues that crowded his marriage, choking it of the vitality it once had. As he struggles to make sense of this void, he finds Simone’s diary. As he reads her heartfelt words, reality sinks in regarding his part in the marital friction.
In this well-crafted book, the author skillfully portrays the sensitive issues with objectivity, for marriage is a joint venture. She also demonstrates how, though going “all out for God” in professional ministry, sometimes the demands can challenge a marriage and fracture what was once a solid foundation.
Will Jace find redemption, or is it too late?
