As Christian writers, the demand on our energies can be so draining, we want to quite. Why go on? Especially when sales dwindle, when faced with obstacles to promotion and marketing, when publishers drop us because our numbers did not meet their expectations, when there are more and more authors on the scene with fewer and fewer readers.
What can we do when we feel we should give up?
In 2 Chronicles 20 we read how Jehosophat was told that a large army was approaching. The whole land was struck with fear. Then Jahaziel told the king and people of Judah, “Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s” (2 Chronicles 20:15b NIV)
Remembering who’s battle this is begins our development of new found energy and purpose.
