Preparing the Sacrifice

Many are the plans in a person’s heart,
    but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails

Proverbs 19:21 NIV

Little can be much when we surrender what we have with a sincere heart to the Lord.

We listen to all the advice that is thrown our way. We scratch our heads wondering why these “tricks of the trade” don’t work for us. We spend many dollars and hours trying to advance our work. When we track our sales, we don’t see the needle move very much if at all. We wonder if we even heard God right when he called us to be his messenger through our written words.

“A little goes a long way,” the adage says, “when God is in it.”

How can we deal with the anxiety that comes with poor results or results that we cannot see?

Relax into His word.
Receive what He gives.
Release it into the world.  

Reading God’s word daily and sometimes twice a day brings a sweet aroma of promise. He has not forsaken us. His word assures us that he will bless whatever we bring to Him even though what we see seems futile. Those blessings may not be measurable by world standards, but in God’s economy, we will be fruitful.
