Having the Prime of My Life

WONDER OF LIFE
Wednesday, March 13, 2024 by JOAN C. BENSON & MARJORIE L. WINGERT

TODAY’S POST DEDICATED TO SENIORS WHO WRITE

Cornerstone Concepts for Kids book series is a tool to help Christian families protect their little ones growing up in an anti-biblical culture. These books are written to tackle the current cultural intrusions into our Christian family topic by topic: gender, diversity, life, and creation in a child-friendly, age-appropriate way.

Each story conveys God's truths for our little ones from lap readers to about age eight. The language and lessons are kid-friendly and age-appropriate with bright, engaging illustrations and rhyming text to present the message. Do the kids love them? Yes. Do the parents and grandparents cherish these biblical concepts for their littlest? Yes.

As parents and grandparents, we sometimes feel helpless as we watch anti-biblical ideologies thrust at our youngest family members. We know what they may encounter on the playground with other children, at school, or even at the library or neighborhood pool.

2 Timothy 3:15, tells us "...from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ."

To protect our youngest children, we must help them put on the armor of God before they can do it for themselves. They need to know what God's mind is on these important topics before they hear the world's twist.

Since babies can hear their mothers' and fathers' voices even within the womb, they can listen to God's Word at an early age even before full understanding develops. As a reading specialist, I know how important reading is to children as soon as they sit in your lap. As children mature, we can expand and grow the concepts taught, but a foundation has been established.

This is why we believe the age span for our Cornerstone Concepts for Kids books is broad from lap readers to about age eight or nine.

March 19, the latest Cornerstone book, Wonder of Life, will be released on Amazon (see link).

A pre-buy is already available on Kindle. WONDER OF LIFE teaches young children how God sees his human children as precious, valued, made in His image, and for His good plans and purposes. The current world philosophy taught is that humans are just part of the animal kingdom and that we hold no more significance than the shrimp!

If children realize how special God made his human children, special enough to breathe his breath into the first human lungs, they may grow up with a greater understanding of their worth. Human life should never be considered disposable. The concept of the image of God imprinted on humanity is a BIG idea, but it's never too early to teach children the concept.

As with each of the other concept books, there will follow a parent-child devotional with discussion ideas, developing the concepts back to scripture.

Wonder of Life quote:

"Most important of all
is God’s hope and his plan
To live in our hearts
and draw close to man."

Wonder of Life by Joan C. Benson and Marjorie Wingert

MORE ABOUT THE WONDER OF LIFE

With musical rhyming lyrics and beautiful illustrations, Wonder of Life teaches as well as entertains. In a world where the value of life appears disposable, the Bible teaches valuable concepts to the contrary. The authors show how God created humankind as set apart from the animals by forming them in his image. God even breathed his breath of life into these human children, unlike the other creatures. Children will grow in spiritual confidence when they understand how God loves them as precious treasures with whom he desires a personal relationship.

ABOUT MARJORIE L. WINGERT

Marjorie L. Wingert’s desire to write emerged as a young child. At the age of ten, she penned her first memoir in the back of a moving, ten-passenger van. Growing up in central Pennsylvania, music, art, and academics joined her love of writing. These interests culminated in a B.A. in Music and Psychology. However, it was the financial industry that benefitted from her talents for over a decade. A degenerative eye condition forced her away from the financial sector and led her to earn an M.A. in Community Counseling. Although continued failing vision once more altered her pathway, a new passion for writing re-emerged.

Marjorie’s heart’s desire is for young children to know Jesus through the transforming power of God found in the pages of Scripture. As an author, speaker, musician, and blogger, Marjorie uses her God-given talents to help equip parents to train their children in the Lord through prayer. She loves to communicate God’s truths to kids in fun and engaging ways. Collaborating with the real-life Mr. Caleb of her children’s book series, she is composing a music CD of Bible verses set to simple, catchy tunes children and parents will sing over and over again.
